With all the preparation and planning that we have done for over a year before leaving, our journey would not be possible without the help and support of a number of other people. In particular now that we are on the journey, a strong ‘home base’ in Austria helps us to sort out some of the little or bigger problems that inevitably occur as we move on such as sending a package with those vital spare parts!
Foremost we thank our families and in particular our parents not only for the material support that they have always given us but also for their understanding of the unusual ideas we have always brought home. It is their open-minded approach and education that has nurtured our interest in discovering the world, its different cultures and people.
On 15.08.2008 we held our wedding in Segromigno in Monte (Toscana, Italy) and had a wonderful Sunflower Party. We thank all of our guests for all the presents which are now coming in very useful!

Technical support
Thanks to Sandro’s brother Fabio for the help in creating the technical environment for this website to run both at the beginning and for the long-distance support during the year and in particular after the website crash in March 2009. Thank you also to Markus Arnold from arnisoft for the assistance in hosting the website.
Medical partner
After taking a crash-course in medicine and first-aid from our expedition doctor Markus Saleh we are hopefully perfectly prepared for any medical issues on the road. Thanks also to Markus for putting together a medical kit that we hopefully will not open too often.
